Black House Series Chapter 4 ~ Tips for a considered floor plan
Bungalows are probably nearing extinction here in the UK, but that didn't stop us falling for ours and seeing the potential.
I hope you have all had a good week. I have had a challenging few days which I mentioned on Instagram stories, early Menopause and HRT are no fun but it’s a journey and will hopefully work itself out. I know that lots of you have come over from Instagram to follow me here and I really appreciate it!
Let’s go back to the Renovation Series and our next chapter. I would love to know more about you and what you love. I have noted under the Poll what I mean by each option if you want to look at that first.
Open Plan: You like to embrace spaciousness with an open-plan layout, where living spaces seamlessly flow into one another, and you crave togetherness and freedom.
Broken-Plan: You feel that this strikes the perfect balance between openness and definition and maybe incorporates partitions and partial walls to create distinct zones and is flexible.
Traditional: You prefer a traditional layout that follows a more conventional arrangement, providing separate rooms and distinct areas for different functions.
Two months on, we were well underway on our dream home renovation. The bungalow offered us a glimpse of the potential that lay ahead. Although our bungalow needed a huge amount of work, not all do and there is definite merit in considering one if you are looking for a renovation project. Bungalows are often detached so you can get a larger footprint than a semi-detached or terraced house, or at least that was the case for us here in Wales in the area we were looking. You usually get a front garden too and gain a wider house which can give you lots of options for how to remodel or structure it.
There is more to the story here which I have never shared on Instagram but actually in this space feels somewhat more intimate and easier to share and talk about.
I hope you will see the value and come and join me over the coming weeks and months.
